Welcome To The Blog: My Aha Moment

Welcome to Sprinkles and Sit Ups, your go-to guide for fitness, food, and fun. I started Sprinkles and Sit Ups because I love connecting with others through fitness and healthy living. My goal is to help others live happier, healthier lives, and if I can do that with a dash of sugar and a pinch of sweat—while, that’s icing on the cake ;)What to expect.Authenticity: I strive to be genuine not only in my words, but in my actions as well. Every post is written from my heart and from my own perspective. I hope you enjoy and leave a comment when you do :)Healthy Living Inspiration. Nourish the body with clean foods, the mind with positive thoughts, and the soul with fun and adventure. All of my suggestions can be easily followed and applied to your everyday life.Healthy mind, healthy body, healthy heart.Empowerment. I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. Whether that be a race, a recipe, or a travel adventure, feel empowered in your decisions and in your ability to run the world (Beyonce said it best).A New Friend. I love connecting with others, whether that be in person or via social media. Drop a line, say hi, and I look forward to learning more about you and your goals. My Inspiration: Aha MomentEveryday, I consider myself lucky that my “aha moment” came at 11-years-old. In a Limited Too fitting room I sat down and cried, unable to fit into anything in the store. At that moment in time I vowed to make a change. While my peers ate pizza, I ordered salads and spent evenings doing Tae Bo in my living room. I learned the value of hard work, sacrifice, and the importance of being active and nourishing the body with healthy food.I have learned over the years that self love is the most valuable form of love there is. And while I have my ups and downs, I continue to make progress. I will never be perfect (no one will), and that’s ok.Life is about balance. Life is about fun. Life is about self-acceptance and gratitude. Since that day in Limited Too I have run four half-marathons, one full-marathon, and competed in two bodybuilding competitions. I continue to challenge my body and my mind in new ways, and my hope is that by sharing my experiences you too will step outside your comfort zone, try something new (food, fitness, or otherwise), and feel the love.Welcome to Sprinkles and Sit Ups. Let’s continue on this journey, together.
